ABOUT TANYA WYATT
Functional movement and posture rehabilitation specialist
Who I am
Movement has been at the centre of my life for over thirty years. What began as a professional ballet career evolved into work across fitness education, rehabilitation, counselling and one-to-one coaching. Through every chapter, my focus has remained the same: helping people move with confidence, strength and ease.
Today, I work one-to-one with adults in London who want to feel stronger, steadier and more at home in their bodies. That might mean rebuilding strength and confidence after injury or surgery, correcting long-held postural patterns, improving balance and mobility, or simply wanting to feel fitter, leaner and more toned. My approach is calm, practical and entirely personalised to you.
My journey into movement
My early twenties were spent as a professional ballet dancer with CAPAB Ballet Company in Cape Town. Ballet gave me a deep understanding of alignment, control and how the body moves under pressure.
When I transitioned out of dance, my career shifted naturally into fitness, movement education and one-to-one coaching. Over the years I worked with clients across different life stages, blending movement, strength work and flexibility training to support the whole person rather than just the physical routine.
Experience and background
Over the past three decades, I have:
- trained and performed as a professional ballet dancer at CAPAB Ballet Company, Cape Town
- built a career in movement coaching, strength training and flexibility education
- worked one-to-one with adults recovering from injury, managing postural strain and rebuilding functional strength
- developed and delivered programmes focused on mobility, balance and active ageing
- authored two practical guides: How To Be Your Own Personal Trainer and Stretch Routines
These experiences have shaped a teaching style that is grounded, realistic and centred on what genuinely helps people feel better in their bodies.
Published work
Over the course of my career, I have authored two practical guides published by New Holland Publishers.
How To Be Your Own Personal Trainer and Stretch Routines were written to give individuals a clear understanding of how to move, train and maintain their bodies with confidence and structure.
These books reflect my long-standing commitment to intelligent, sustainable movement education.
